The one follow-up, and when it goes

Last updated 2026-10-28

A sequence is what makes a person feel processed. One follow-up is what a person would do.

  • On a free LinkedIn account the invitation goes without a note; the first message goes the working day after they accept, never the same day.
  • 4 working days later, if they have not replied, one follow-up: one new true thing and the ask in fewer words. It never says "following up" or "bumping".
  • A reply at any point cancels whatever is still queued. A reaction does not; it is noted and shown.
  • After the follow-up, nothing. The person stays in your ledger so they are never messaged twice.

Why we built it this way is in one follow-up, never a sequence.
