Targeting: titles, keywords, the watch list and the hiring play
Last updated 2026-10-28
The messages are only as good as the list. Most tools give you a search box and a slider. This gives you four ways to say who, in order of how warm the person is when the message lands.
The four, warmest first
- Watched phrases: people who wrote a post this week containing a phrase you watch. Their post is the evidence the message opens on.
- Watched profiles: people who commented under a competitor's or a creator's recent post. Their comment is the evidence.
- Hiring titles: companies that posted a job this week for the role your product replaces or equips. The decision makers there are found and the posting is the evidence, with a date on it.
- Titles, industries, locations and keywords: the floor. A title match with no signal is still a lead, scored lower.
Setting it up
On /onboarding, paste your product page once and the ICP is written for you; edit the fields after. Watch up to ten profiles and ten phrases; they rotate, 8 reads a day. Hiring titles take 6 reads a day, enough for two companies. "One result you can cite" is a true number the message may use once, written exactly as you would say it.
What teaches it
Every skip, every reply and every silence feeds back. A title that replies below your average falls in the ranking; a phrase that finds nobody worth writing to is dropped; the angle that gets replies is leaned on. The lessons are written in plain words on the ICP page.
The message structure the targeting feeds is described in read before you write.
